Event Description

The Active-In Sports Forum is a free event that provides up to date information, on a local, county and national level to sports clubs, educational establishments and other organisations within the District. It gives an insight into the key things that coaches, administrators and key volunteers need to know about.

Our confirmed guest speaker for the night is Aaron Phipps a former Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby player and London 2012 Paralympic athlete, where he scored over half the overall points for the team. Also an avid adventure in 2016 Aaron set himself the ultimate challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for MRF. It was the first time a disabled British person had climbed Kilimanjaro without assistance.

The evening is split into two sections. The first section is a series of quick presentations by some professional sports development staff. This year the presentations will include:

- Funding

- Marketing

- Sport England Strategy

- County Sports Partnership -  Priorities

- Active-In Support & Development

The second section will be a chance for you to speak directly to those speakers about your individual club's situation, needs and wants. Through the registration process, we will be able to produce name badges that allows you to identify people from the clubs, schools and groups that are closest to you.

The sports forum is there for your club/organisation to use in whatever way suits you best. If you are in rush, you are able to leave but from previous years, we have found that a high number of projects and programmes have benefitted from the networking opportunities and we strongly encourage you to stay for at least some of that session if you can.

We look forward to seeing you there!
