Carol (+ Pre-Feature Short)

This winter, we're thrilled to be bringing the queer classic Carol to the Light House Cinema. 

Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven, May December) was the perfect director to bring Patricia Highsmith’s novel, The Price of Salt, a story of secret love, against a backdrop of 1950s glamour, to the big screen.

Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara) spots the beautiful, elegant Carol (Cate Blanchett) perusing the doll displays in a 1950s Manhattan department store. The two women develop a fast bond that becomes a love with complicated consequences.

We'll host a complimentary drinks reception sponsored by Teeling Whiskey after the screening, which we'd love to welcome you to. All proceeds will go towards supporting the festival.
