Inclusive Sports Open Day - Swimming Beginners

Welcome to our Inclusive Sports Open Day, running at Wycombe Leisure Centre. We have a number of sports available for you to try so don’t let your disability hold you back!

Join us for a taster session in Swimming suitable for all ages. Active-In have teamed up with Wycombe District Swimming Club, Horizons Sports Club and Wycombe Leisure Centre to offer this session for individuals who are not water confident and require support in the water. Some participants may have very little experience or may have never swam before. Before your session you will get to speak to one of our fantastic coaches who will find out more about you and your swimming journey. Following this brief you will then have a swimming session in the water lasting up to 30 minute. All sessions are led by qualified coaches and are tailored for your needs.

For your information we are also running Water Confident Swimming sessions earlier in the day which is for individuals that are water confident and can swim a minimum of 20 metres and are looking to improve their ability. Please come appropriately dressed for the session, we would suggest swimming attire or tight fitted clothing if possible.

We ask that parents, guardians and carers are to stay on site for the duration of the session and can watch from the viewing gallery. Under certain circumstances the clubs may ask for the parent, guardian or carer to accompany individuals in the pool. Therefore please be prepared to assist in this situation.

The Leisure Centre has accessible toilets and changing along with a pool hoist if required. There are lockers on site however you are required to bring your own padlock. Parking is available at the Leisure Centre and payment is pay and display. Please ensure you have the appropriate change. Fees are as follows: 50p for 2 hours, £1.00 for 4 hours. The Leisure Centre have an onsite café if you require refreshments, along with meal deal offers which are available for lunch.

Spaces for this session are limited, therefore booking in advance is required!
