Join our recent 'Last Wight of the Proms' soprano Faryl Smith accompanied by pianist Ashley Beauchamp, for an intimate lunchtime concert in the stunning setting of Northwood House's Ballroom. You can join us for lunch directly after the concert, served in the Drawing Room. Select from our three options when buying tickets.

Welcome to Wight Proms Wednesdays! We would like to bring you a bit of the Wight Proms throughout the year and not just in August, and so we launched this lunchtime concert series. Taking place at 12:30 on Wednesdays and each lasting 40 minutes, they are the ideal addition to your lunch break.


BIOGRAPHIES


Faryl Smith is a soprano whose performance repertoire includes opera, classical and classical crossover. She has released two albums with Decca Records both in the UK and the US. Faryl was privileged to perform with Jose Carreras at Hampton Court Palace and has also shared the stage with Placido Domingo, Jonas Kaufmann and Angela Gheorghiu at the Classical Brit Awards. She had the honour of performing for HRH Queen Elizabeth II several times during her career. Faryl recently covered the role of Giannetta in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore at The Glyndebourne Opera House and performed in Il Barbiere di Siviglia as an Opera Holland Park Young Artist and at Waterperry Opera Festival. She also took part in a recent masterclass with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.


British pianist and conductor Ashley Beauchamp studied on the opera course of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has worked on over 30 productions with companies including the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, Garsington, Waterperry, Nevill Holt and Blackheath Halls Opera. He is Head of Music and Co-Director of the Young Artist Programme at Waterperry Opera Festival, Musical Director of the Glyndebourne Youth Opera programme, and Musical Director of Thames Opera Company. He was previously Head of Music for Nevill Holt Opera. Ashley is a passionate advocate for musical education and participation and every year introduces thousands of people across the UK to singing and performing opera for the first time.
